Is Hypnosis Safe?

Hypnotherapy is very safe. In fact most people find it an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Hypnosis is a gentle, non-invasive yet effective way of enabling a therapist to re-programme negative and damaging patterns of behaviour. It cannot have a negative effect on your mind. The worst it can do is have no effect at all, but that is rare. 

I will answer any question you have both before and during your appointment to reassure you.

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis involves you being placed into a light, medium or deep trance state allowing us to work with your unconscious mind. 

Being in a trance is very relaxing. It is a bit like when you are watching your favourite film or TV programme in that you are become totally focused on that one thing. In this case though, the focus is on relaxing 

With hypnosis your focus becomes focused on being very relaxed both mentally and physically.You will be able to hear everything that is said when you are in trance. 

Being in a hypnotic trance means that I can communicate directly with your unconscious / sub-conscious mind. This is where memories and motivations are stored are located along with your ability to learn. 

By communicating directly with your unconscious mind, it’s possible achieve the goals you set out at the beginning of the session and resolve any underlying issues you may have had

Can A Hypnotherapist Make Me Do Things I Do Not Wish To Do?

The short answer is no, absolutely not. Contrary to popular myths created by film and television, a hypnotherapist cannot take control of your mind. No one can hypnotise you and get you to reveal secrets about yourself or do things that you do not want to do. You are in complete control at all times. If a suggestion is inappropriate for you, your mind will always reject it.

Does Hypnotherapy Work Online?

Sessions via Zoom are just as effective as in person, in some cases even more effective as clients can enjoy sessions in the comfort of their own home. All you need is access to Zoom on a laptop or iPad, and a room where you won’t be disturbed, with a comfortable chair or somewhere comfortable to lay for the hypnotherapy part of the session. This enables me to work with clients wherever they may be in the world.

What NOT To Expect

You will not be asleep- we will be communicating while I apply powerful techniques.  We are not going to focus on the big why but instead spend our time together focusing one what has happened and what you need to do instead to feel better. You will not feel negatively emotional, my job is to help you be able to deal with these emotions, not have to feel the power of them.My unique techniques mean we can release the emotion without feeling it.
